About
John Durino
John Durino was born and raised in Lyndon, Kansas. With his first job as a plumbers helper in 8th grade, plumbing has been in his bones since childhood. Growing up, he’s also worked as a concrete laborer, cabinet & countertop installer, hardware store supervisor, and plumbing department manager. He started plumbing full-time in 2006, received his journeyman license in 2010 and his Master Plumber License in 2016.
In 2012, John and his wife, Sarah, and their two sons, Dylan and Chance, moved to Bozeman, Montana and lived there for 4 years. They had a great time growing professionally and as a family. As a plumber in Montana, John worked on some of the largest custom homes in the country. Although they enjoyed Montana, the winters were long and relatives lived back in Kansas; so they moved to Lawrence in 2016 and shortly after had their 3rd son, Quinton.
John loves the small town feel of Lawrence, with all the opportunities of a larger city. He spends his free time enjoying outdoor activities, coaching his sons’ baseball teams, and being active in his church and through the community.
Tony Votaw
Born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, Tony began his plumbing career at just 18 years old, working in his cousin’s drain cleaning business. After gaining valuable experience in other industries, he returned to plumbing in 2021 and trained under John Durino at a Topeka-based company. Tony quickly earned his Journeyman’s License in both Topeka and Lawrence, and he’s built a reputation for his commitment to quality work and genuine customer care. He takes pride in going above and beyond for clients, making him a natural fit for the Durino Plumbing team.
Outside of plumbing, Tony enjoys traveling, hiking, and kayaking with his dog, Willow, and catching live concerts whenever he can. His biggest passion, however, is auto racing—he serves as an Assistant Time Trials Director with the National Auto Sport Association and is the Solo Chair for the Kansas Region SCCA. Whether he’s under the hood or helping customers in their homes, Tony brings dedication, energy, and a personal touch to everything he does.
Connor Vance
Originally from Nevada, Missouri, Connor spent five years working in the plumbing department at Menards, where he advanced from part-time associate to department manager. His hands-on experience and leadership in the retail plumbing world sparked a deeper interest in the trade, leading him to join Durino Plumbing under the guidance of John Durino. Connor is excited to continue growing his skills in the field while providing reliable, customer-focused service to the Lawrence and Topeka communities.
Outside of work, Connor is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys deer hunting, golfing, and spending time in nature. He also loves to travel and explore new places, always looking for the next adventure. With his strong work ethic and enthusiasm for learning, Connor is a great addition to the Durino Plumbing team.
